How exactly the filtration happens?
I was quite curious about it and this is what I found on Filtech website. Very comprehensive info!
1. Ion Exchange Resin
Water is purified and decontaminated through a softening process which removes heavy metal like copper and led. While removing these heavy metal, innocuous ions are replaced by potassium and sodium ions. These ions carry electrolytes which are beneficial to our nervous system.
2. Activated Carbon
Activated carbon will then remove chlorine and other sediments while at the same time clearing away bad odor and improving taste. It also removes contaminants and increases hydration.
3. Antioxidant and Alkaline Medium
At this stage, the antioxidants remove contaminants from the water and also creates strong antioxidants which create alkaline ionized water. This water supplies active hydrogen ions and has low negative ORP(Oxidation-Reduction Potential) which provides a powerful antioxidant potential.
My Review:
It’s easy to use and believe me, the taste of the water after it goes through the filtration process is totally differently nice and your tongue will feel its purity. The color of this pitcher is super cool and pleasing to eyes. I can keep it anywhere and it doesn’t occupy too much space. Affordable is a big plus! Lightweight and durable because oops, my butter-fingers dropped it one time and it didn’t break. ♥
It looks good on my dining table and kids love to use it too. So automatically, drinking clean water becomes a habit!

2-Step Ultra Filtration
Step 1 : Activated Carbon
The granular activated carbon incorporates absorption and catalytic reduction mechanism for embellished and augmented purification efficiency. It equips activated carbon filtering for removal of residual chlorine up to 99%, VOCs and other impurities. It also deodorize, improve color and taste of water.
Step 2: Enhanced Hollow Filter Membrane
The enhanced hollow filter membrane offers Filtech’s fine fibre micro-porous membrane technology for pervasive particle exclusion filtration to discard hanging colloids up to 0.1 micron in size while at the same time preserving necessary minerals intact. In addition, it also eliminates up to 99% of bacteria to maintain quality drinking water standard.
Initially, I was a bit confused with the installation but it is not that difficult at all. Just check the steps in this video and you’ll get it.
Installation
After installation, your tap will look something like this:
The Filtra Plus FWF 177 comes with various sizes of tap adapters making it suitable for all kinds of faucets and taps.
Not only does the Filtra Plus FWF 177 removes impurities and bad odor, it uses Filtech Technology to enhance the taste of the water as well as to prevent any bacteria growth inside the filter. It filters up to as small as 0.1 um of particles and impurities which ensures clean and pure water for drinking, cooking and washing of groceries like fruits and vegetables.
My Review:
I let my hubby do the installation because I was a bit confused. Actually, the installation is pretty straight-forward and I love the clear, graphical instructions available with Filtech’s products. The packaging is very neat and easy to operate. By the way, when you buy items more than 50$, Filtech delivers them to your home. Hasslefree!
When the filter is for tap water, I can drink from the tap and without any worry. Water tastes much much better and it’s free of impurities and bacteria.
