This is big!! Apple has refreshed its desktop lineup with the new Mac mini and Mac Studio, bringing faster performance, stronger AI capabilities and upgraded connectivity, while keeping their compact designs.
Whether you need a powerful everyday desktop or a machine for demanding professional work, there’s plenty to look forward to.
1. Mac mini gets a big performance boost
The new Mac mini comes with a choice of the M6 or M5 Pro, giving this small desktop a significant upgrade in performance.
With M6, Mac mini delivers up to 4x faster AI performance, 2x faster graphics, 2x faster storage and up to 40% faster CPU performance compared with the previous generation.
That extra power can be useful for everything from AI applications and creative work to video editing and other demanding tasks.
For users who need even more performance, Mac mini with M5 Pro is designed for heavier workloads such as video production and game development.
Connectivity has also been upgraded, with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and 2.5Gb Ethernet, plus an optional 10Gb Ethernet connection.

2. Mac Studio is built for demanding work
The new Mac Studio is aimed at users who need significantly more power. It is available with M5 Max or the new M5 Ultra.
With M5 Max or M5 Ultra, Mac Studio delivers up to 4.3x faster AI performance, up to 1.8x faster graphics, up to 2x faster storage and up to 1.3x faster CPU performance.
It is designed for professionals working in areas such as video production, software development, AI research, data science and other demanding creative workflows.
There is plenty of connectivity too, including up to six Thunderbolt 5 ports and support for up to eight displays.
Mac Studio with M5 Max starts at S$3,499, while M5 Ultra starts at S$7,999.
3. The chips are the real story
Much of the performance comes from Apple’s latest silicon.
The M6 is Apple’s first 2-nanometer chip, with a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. It also offers up to 170GB/s of unified memory bandwidth.
The M5 Ultra takes things even further with a quad-die architecture using Apple’s UltraFusion technology. It features up to a 36-core CPU, 80-core GPU and 1.2TB/s of unified memory bandwidth.
